down to write a post! After going through my Bloglovin feed for the first time
in months, I was re inspired to start posting again and capturing our recent
trip to California seemed like the perfect place to start. Matt and I are kind
of sporadic vacation planners so we booked our flights and a week later our
little family of 4 was off to San Diego. Our trip was planned for a couple of
weeks but it turned into the kids and I being there for over a month!
First order of business was meeting my adorable nephew Harley. I was able to
spend a lot of time snuggling him during our long trip. I miss him so
much. Cohen decided he wanted to be a baby and did everything Harley did. He thinks he’s so funny. Being an Aunt is the best!
Matt and I got to go on a few dates including golfing, movies, and eating tons of mexican food. Because you know its the best in C.A. Not to mention our favorite places to eat In N Out, Rubios, and Islands. It’s safe to say my pants were not fitting me by the time I got home:)
My kids loved going to the Oceanside Pier and caught their first fish with my dad. They were spoiled by all of our family and had way too much ice cream on this trip.
I left the kiddos with my parents and took my first train ride up north to Santa Monica to spend the weekend checking out wedding venues in Malibu with my sister and my soon to be brother in law. We also had a girls brunch at the Malibu Cafe (cutest place ever!)
We spent a week at a gorgeous vacation home in Cardiff that my dad built only 2 miles from the beach.
and I once again sporadically decided to go on a 4 day cruise out of Long Beach. We thought why not since we are here and we have family to watch the littles. We went to
Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico (nothing to see there we found a starbucks
and then went back on the ship.) It was so great to have 4 days just the
two of us. Plus I actually got to read an entire book (The Fault in Our Stars).
That never happens. #spoileralert you will ball your eyes out.
We celebrated the 4th of July at my brothers. The kids got to swim and watch fireworks.
mom and the kids and I went back up to Santa Monica for the weekend to spend
time with my sister. We went to the Santa Monica Pier. Shayna and I rode the
roller coaster it was one of the most gorgeous views ever. We did a little
shopping at the promenade, saw The Fault in our Stars (I personally liked the
movie better than the book and I have never cried more in a movie.) The kids
loved hanging out with Aunt Shayna and Uncle Kevin. I practically had to drag
Riley in the car when it was time to go.
We met up with our Millat side of the family at a Starbucks
in Oceanside. We had so much fun catching up. Cohen was a riot cracking us all
up and Riley was shy and hardly said 2 words.
home I was a little apprehensive flying with Cohen at this age because he
doesn’t want to stay still and he’s in his terrible 2’s which means I usually
end up in tears by the end of the day. Were on the runway getting ready to take
off and Riley looks at me with a very concerned look on her face and says
“Mom I have to poop. I can’t hold it its coming out” as loud as can
be so everyone is staring at me probably thinking to themselves I am so glad I
am not her. We can’t get up because were taking off and our fasten seat belt
signs are on so I am a little freaked out however my girl was able to hold it
until we were in the air. THANK GOD!!!! I laugh about it now because it’s
pretty hilarious, but at the time I was freaking out thinking everyone on that
plane was going to hate me for having a kid with an accident. Besides that it
wasn’t too bad Cohen flirted with the girl in front of us and Riley watched a
movie. We got home to a completely cleaned house. I mean shampooed carpets,
laundry done, fridge stocked with the kids favorite food. My husband is the
best! Vacations are always so wonderful but there is definitely no place like
home. Until next time C.A.
