Going Back to School
It is that time of year again where we hustle to target to buy all the school supplies on our little checklist. Trying to accomplish this task with our children in the chaos of the back to school bustle is enough to send me into a full blown panic attack. After completing what seemed like mission impossible, I find myself walking out of Target having spent $400 plus dollars on paper and glue sticks! Paper and glue sticks people!!! Thank God this time I have a legitimate reason to explain to my husband as to why I spent so much money.
This school year I will have not one BUT two kids in school full time. Riley will be going into second grade and Cohen will be in Kindergarten. This means schedules are about to get crazy packed and if your anything like me you better have things written down or your kid will be the only one who doesn’t bring snacks to the school party or forgets their project on the due date.
Volunteering and Field Trips
Volunteering is also a requirement these days for parents and since last year I was pregnant with our third baby my daughters teacher (bless her heart) didn’t make me come in and grade papers. One of the only things I miss about being pregnant is the free pass you get on volunteering and chaperoning. However, this year I plan on being involved with both kids class parties and field trips. Now that I have three kids and run my own business I desired to find something to help make our lives a little easier with scheduling these activities this coming school year and guess what? I found it! SignUp.
SignUp is the solution to keeping everything organized and is why our back to school is better! I need reminders in my life, when I am reminded about upcoming appointments and events it helps me keep everything in order. Our kids have a lot of class parties and field trips and with SignUp its so easy to be aware of what I signed up to bring to the class parties. I also love that there are plenty of creative suggestions and ideas for these school activities. For example they have nut free snack ideas which is very relevant as there are so many kids out there with nut allergies. What a smart idea!
Getting that reminder that I volunteered to drive and chaperone the field trip to the zoo makes life a little bit more stress free! Especially when you can include the time and directions listed right on the SignUp app. I don’t know about you but the less stressful my life is during the school year the better mom I can be to my kids and that is worth its weight in gold. I encourage all parents and teachers to utilize SignUp this school year because who doesn’t want to make going back to school easy as 1-2-3?
