Cruising on Symphony of the Seas

If you follow me on Instagram you know that Matt and I just took an amazing trip of a life time on the newest ship Symphony of the Seas with Royal Caribbean International. Not only is it the largest ship in the world but it has the most exciting entertainment, delicious food, and breathtaking adventures for everyone no matter what age. So grab a cup of coffee and start planning your next adventure!

Since we are a family of 5 with 3 kids our first order of business was to see what the ship had to offer for a unforgettable family vacation. Need a break from the kiddos? No problem drop them off (complimentary) with experienced staff while they hang out in Adventure Ocean. There are rooms tailored to ages starting at 6 months and up. The kids facilities are the best I have ever seen equipped with a science lab for getting those creative juices flowing and even their own movie theater.

If the family is looking for some fun in the sun then head over to Splashway Bay aqua park that features colorful water slides, water cannons, fountains, pools and the famous drench bucket. The older kids who will love the thrill seeking water slides Supercell, Typhoon and Cyclone plus they can take the plunge with the Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea, with its 100-foot dramatic drop.

The kids will also enjoy the sports court, mini golf, ice skating rink, carousel, the candy store Sugar Beach, glow in the dark laser tag and the gaming arcade. We spent a lot of time at the Boardwalk where you can eat at Johnny Rockets, Makers Sports Bar, or grab a hot dog at the Boardwalk Dog House. The arcade was a blast and took us back to being kids trying to beat each other at skee ball.

If your wanting to go all out on your vacation than definitely book the ultimate family suite that is loaded with a slide! Yep a slide in your room, what is more cooler than that? The suite also includes your very own private jacuzzi and a private game room! Its out of this world.

There are so many options when it comes to what you can do in the evening. We liked to spend our time before dinner hanging out in the Solarium an adults only indoor outdoor experience. Grab a drink from the bar and enjoy the ocean views or enjoy the pools and whirl pools kid free. It was the perfect place for us to unwind and chill.

We also loved strolling through Central Park where many of the fine dining restaurants were. The atmosphere of Central Park in the middle of the ocean is pretty breathtaking. It was probably my favorite place in the entire ship because it felt so magical, like you were in the real park not in the middle of the ocean. We liked to grab brunch there to at the Central Park Cafe (complimentary to all guests)

We saw so many great shows, one of them being the Broadway musical Hairspray. The production was top notch and was a perfect date night for us. I literally had goose bumps from the voices that the cast had, so much amazing talent. We also enjoyed a hilarious comedy show that left us laughing the entire night. The ship includes an aqua theater out in the middle of the ocean where the show HIRO is performed. It is a stunt filled acrobatic show with high divers and high tech choreography. There is also the 1977  ice skating show, the original Royal Caribbean production flight, piano bars, guest entertainers, a bionic bar, and a casino. You will never run out of fun things to do.

Lets be honest one of the best parts of being on a cruise is the food! Matt and I love getting dressed up and going out to dinner and we enjoyed every bite on our trip. There are several dining options on Symphony of the Seas which makes every meal exciting because nothing is the same. Since we are huge Mexican Food lovers we spent a lot of our time eating at El Loco fresh. I mean I am not one to pass up a a salsa bar and their quesadillas were so yummy.

We enjoyed several multi coarse dinners in the main dinning where the service was excellent and the atmosphere was elegant. The main dining is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu is never the same. Through out the day we would head to the Windjammer which is the buffet that is open throughout the day. It’s here where I indulged in their to die for chocolate buffet.

If your in the mood to switch it up and want a specialty restaurant experience while a board the ship then your in luck because there are plenty of options. Including Italian, Sea food, Sushi, Tapas, Steak House, Pizza, or burgers because the ship includes a total of 25 on board dining options (14 complimentary, including room-service) are available to choose from. Oh and if your needing your Starbucks fix don’t worry there is one on board:)

I am a spa day kind of girl and Royal Caribbean went all out for their spa and gym facility. We took a tour of the spa and it was extremely impressive. The vitality spa had the largest list of services I have seen on a ship.  Services from massages to facials to botox and cool sculpting could be done by highly trained professionals all while sailing the sea.

The gym was fully equipped with cardio machines and weights as well as an impressive schedule of fitness and nutrition classes. There is nothing like grabbing a fresh smoothie after a spin class and you can do that at the juice bar located right as you exit the gym at the vitality cafe.

Are you ready to come and seek the adventure of a lifetime? I promise you will not be disappointed with the memories that will be made a board Royal Caribbeans Symphony of the Seas. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have and I can’t wait to hear about your adventure on your next cruise with Royal Caribbean.  To book a sailing click HERE.
