Whenever we think of our upcoming vacation plans it’s got to be somewhere warm and by the water. This month we packed our bags and headed on a cruise with Royal Caribbean International to check out their new $250 million renovations of their private Island CoCo Cay in the Bahamas and let me tell you. It by far exceeded our expectations!
We have been blessed to have traveled to several Caribbean Islands, its one of our favorite destinations, quite honestly because the water is just absolutely breathtaking. This was our first time visiting the private island CoCo Cay and it will definitely not be our last!
I am so excited to give you a recap of the Island and of course you can find all of my outfits by following me on the liketoknowit app HERE. Sit back with a cup of coffee and start planning your next Royal Caribbean Vacation!

As soon as we stepped off the ship we were both taken a back on how pristine CoCo Cay Island is. I don’t think we have EVER been to another Island that was so well kept. When its just Matt and I on vacation we like to chill so the first place we went to was “Chill Island.” Obviously the name intrigued us. We grabbed our complimentary chairs, umbrella, and a cold drink and well we chilled. When it would get hot (and trust me it did quick) we would jump into that turquoises Caribbean water that you hear me talk about so much and cool off. We actually saw a lot of fish and a sting ray swimming around which was so cool. While your at Chill Island you can also rent snorkel equipment, jet skis and a cabana for the day (they also have over water cabanas coming in December.) When you start to hungry you can head straight to the Chill Grill which is complimentary and has so many yummy food options. It truly was a slice of paradise.

Looking for the best view of the Caribbean? CoCo Cay has got you covered giving you the highest vantage point in the Bahamas. You will get a view unlike any other by going 450 feet above Perfect Day at CocoCay in the prettiest colorful helium balloon. Taking in these stunning views is unlike any other experience you’ll have in the Bahamas. There is just nothing quite like it and is a must while your visiting the Island.

Our next stop was the brand new Thrill Water Park. Complete with 13 water slides including Daredevils Peak the tallest water slide in North America at 135 feet. I attempted to go down this waterside but I’ll admit I chickened out, so we just climbed back down a few floors and went down the other adrenaline pumping slides and had a blast!
We both loved that the Thrill Water Park also included splash summit with 6 slides that you could ride with multiple people. We we are able to go on them together it was a blast. Nothing like hearing each other scream and laugh all the way down a exhilarating water slide.
We were given an insider tip that the best burgers and fries were at the Snack Shack which is in Thrill Water Park. They weren’t lying the burgers were AMAZING and they also had funnel cake need I say more. All of this is included with your water park entrance.
I have always been a fan of wave pools and the one in Thrill Water Park is the largest in the Caribbean! If your looking for a little challenge the Obstacles at adventure pool is the place to be. Its fun to people watch there too 🙂

SPLASH AWAY BAY

Right outside of the water park there is Splash Away Bay which is a kids dream come true. The kids will love the fountains, water cannons, and pools. There is a total of 5 water slides and 2 massive drench buckets. When we saw splash away bay we both looked at each other and said “we have to bring the kids next time we come to Coco Cay.

After we got our adrenaline fix we headed over to Oasis Lagoon which is the Caribbeans largest fresh water pool complete with several swim up coves all with their own vibe, a swim up bar big enough for everyone, lounge areas, your own cabana with attendant service (extra charge), a shallow swim area to play with the kids and under water tunes ( yep the kids will love diving under water to hear the music), plus in water loungers (which were my absolute favorite I could have stayed there all day.) The pool was one of our top spots on CoCo Cay.

For this particular sailing we were on the Navigator of the Seas which was also just newly renovated and featured new fine dining restaurants such as Jamie’s Italian, Hooked seafood, Chops Grille, Johnny Rockets, Izumis (their sushi was amazing) If you would like to hear my review of their newest ship Symphony of the Seas click HERE.
