A New Family Tradition
As we all can concur 2020 has been a doozy and with the holiday season upon us we wanted to do something fun as a family to get into the holiday spirit. A trip to The Gaylord Rockies during Christmas time was exactly what our little crew needed. We loved staying at the Gaylord Rockies so much that we decided to make this trip a yearly tradition during the Holiday season.
So Much Christmas
The Gaylord Rockies is the most magical place to be during the Christmas season. Did you know they have over 3 million Christmas lights up throughout the resort? Its like walking onto a hallmark movie set created by Santa’s elves themselves. Of course the jolly old man and Mrs. Claus are their to meet and take pictures with. The Gaylord Rockies’s holiday packages and tickets on sale now until Jan 3rd (purchase HERE.)
I Love Christmas Movies
This year one of the main attractions was an interactive pop up experience of walking through the re created sets of 7 of your favorite Christmas movies including Elf, The Polar Express, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, and The Year Without A Santa Claus. It felt like we walked right onto the scenes of the movies. The kids eyes were filled with so much wonder and excitement as they felt like they were riding the train on the polar express and in the north pole where buddy the elf lived.
On top of the spectacular Christmas ambience there is a list of fun activities to do such as ice skating, snow tubing, ice bumper cars, gingerbread decorating, and a snow merry go round. We also enjoyed the snoopy Christmas scavenger hunt and writing letters to Santa Claus.
The pools, restaurants, spa, and gym are all still open to enjoy with strict Covid requirements in place. I highly recommend making your pool and spa reservations when you first get there if that is on your list of things to do.
Our time at Gaylord Rockies was an incredible experience. We left with our hearts full of Christmas cheer and memories that will last a lifetime. I highly recommend making a trip to the Gaylord during the Holidays and making it a new family tradition. You can check out our summer stay at the Gaylord Here.
