Grateful heart Mondays are a fun linkup I like to join in on when I can (you
can find the link up HERE.) Looking back at the past week I wanted to share an
informative and fun class that I took called “Mama’s Gonna Snap”
hosted by the lovely and talented Andrea Rosenbohm from
Maddie B Photography and Maren Miller from
Maren Miller Photography. I am grateful I was able to be a part of this fun
class which included yummy munchies, stylin’ swag bags, and a laid back atmosphere.
How
many of you moms own an expensive dslr camera and yet have no idea how to use
it manually or even non-manually? Well that was me. I’ve had my camera
for about 3 years now and the excitement that I once had ( I promise I had good
intensions when purchasing it) slowly wore off as I began to rely on my iphone
to capture the moments of my kiddos lives. This is where this class comes into
play. A group of us mama’s signed up to learn from the pro’s on the basics of
our dslr camera’s. Words like aperture, F Stop, and ISO were all foreign to me
until now.

We
were educated and asked a ton of questions the first 3 hours of class and then
our tiny adorable models were dressed to impress and ready for us to take what
we had learned into action. It was such a great experience learning how to
manually work with my camera, something I was completely horrified trying to attempt. So
if you are in the Northern Colorado area I encourage you to sign up for their
next class. Or if your not don’t worry they will be hosting another class
online coming up before the Holiday Season. Here are a few pics I took without
my camera being on AV. Go me!

My husband has been talking about getting me a nice camera for quite some time now, but I've always told him to hold off because I wouldn't have the slightest clue as to how to actually use it (well). BUT- one of these days I will give him the OK and hopefully take a class like this, how fun!! You did a great job, Fawn!
I got a camera this past summer, and the biggest thing I have learned is that I need to practice. and practice! Its so much more about the eye behind the camera than the technology within. It looks like you have a great start with these photos, and its always cool to learn more about it through a class. Great photos!
Truly beautiful pics… I need to take a class for my DSLR as well!!
it's my girls' world
Thank you so much! It was so great to learn.
Thanks Vivian. That was the key takeaway I learned from the class was to practice, practice, practice. Thanks for stopping by:)
You would love the class. I am so glad I took it and feel like I have a better idea of what's going on with the camera. I used to always shoot in Automatic which is great for just getting the feel but now I am glad I am learning more of the technical stuff. If you ever get one let me know:)
